Pull and electric starters have revolutionised petrol and nitro powered model cars, trucks and buggies. With starting much easier, nitro is the preferred power for high performance models, the better torque and brilliant acceleration is a real `blast'. More maintenance is necessary than with electric powered models and so nitro is only suitable for ages mid/late teens and up. Read the Antics help sheet before starting.

Most nitro engines employ a glow plug, which must be heated with a battery powered `glow start', to make starting easy. Many of our deals include the starting pack but check the description to be sure.

Drive Safely! We recommend the fitting of a failsafe device, product 5299008, to prevent these high powered cars running away if radio signal is lost, or receiver batteries run low. A small price to pay for peace of mind.

A beefy 4mm thick 6061-series shock tower keeps things in control up front. Something this massive gives out the 'I mean business' vibe! Front CVA axles improve efficiency and the suspension action, while long-stroke coil-over shocks soak up the bumps and jumps. 22 degree hub carriers are set at the optimum angle for perfect off-road performance.

Benefiting from the Lightning 2 Pro's ancestry, the Sport version features a low-profile upper deck and fuel tank. The main chassis is kept stiff by aluminium steering brace and front and rear chassis braces. The redesigned battery box keeps the receiver pack mounted lower in the chassis than previous designs. A bash guard on the exhaust stinger tip keeps mud out of the tip, preventing flameouts and damage to your tuned pipe. Our own tough .26 engine is started by the popular Jump Start system, and breathes through a burly aluminium tuned pipe for maximum torque and top speed! The power is distributed to the front and rear diffs through a sealed centre differential. Everything spins on a set of ball bearings for optimal efficiency. For maximum stopping power, you get a set of adjustable front and rear brakes! Keeping stones and dirt off everything is a custom-painted blue Lightning body shell, perfect for making a statement out on the track!

A sway bar in the rear keeps things planted for improved grip in the turns. The sturdy rear racing wing is made from a tough material and mounts using screws for extra peace of mind during those long A Finals!

Of course all this is wrapped up in a cool RTR package. With tough servos and proven HPI TF-3 narrowband AM radio gear installed, this is the ultimate off-road racing starter package!
