| > Antics > Radio Control Systems > Radios For Aircraft & Helicopters | 35Mhz frequency radio sets are the UK standard for Radio Controlled Aircraft & Helicopters.
 |
Most RC aircraft in the UK utilize the 35Mhz frequency band for communication. They transmit in FM using PPM or PCM modulation. Most systems use Crystals to set the operating channel in the receiver and transmitter. It is important that each aircraft uses a different channel, otherwise interference could result. For example, if a person is flying an aircraft on channel 35, and someone else turns their radio on the same channel, the aircraft's control will be compromised and the result is almost always a crash. For this reason, when flying at RC airfields, there is normally a board where members can post their channel flag, so everyone knows what channel they are using, avoiding such incidents. 35 Mhz radios are all digital proportional, allowing for precise positioning of servos and speed controllers. Some come with computerised functions with model memories, allowing use of one transmitter with many models, and for easy setting up. Spare Receivers are also available, so all your models can share one transmitter. |
 | | Futaba 6EXP Aero/Heli Radio M2 inc 4xS3003 & R136F (FP6EXP/L) With the 6EXP, the only thing more impressive than the value of all the features it offers is the ease of making use of any one. Computer speed and accuracy top the list, followed closely by 6-model memory, 241-position digital trims, preset wing mixes, a user-programmable mix, dual rates, exponential, ball bearing servos and Futaba's most user-friendly programming yet. Simple "go-with-the-flow" routines use a big, bright 40-segment LCD to show the shortest and most direct route to each feature. Combine that with two buttons and a data input lever, and the 6EXP becomes a way to accomplish the formerly impossible—a way to lock precise set-ups in multi-model memory with digital accuracy and utter simplicity
