more | Tamiya 1/16 German King Tiger Tank Panzerkampfwagon VI Production Turret with Full Option (56018) The German Heavy Tank King Tiger made its appearance during WWII in 1944. The chassis front armour was 150mm thick with 80mm thick side armour and powered by a 700hp Maybach HL230-P30 engine. The Henschel and Porsche companies came up with rival turret prototypes. The first 50 tanks produced had Porsche turret whereas subsequent tanks were equipped with the Henschel designed production turret that featured many improvements over the first model. The King Tiger was armed with a 71-calibre 88mm gun that had enough power to pierce 150mm thick armour from 2000m away. Between the beginning of production in Summer 1944 and March 1945, 440 units were completed. Due to the havoc wreaked by the King Tiger during the final German offensive on the Ardennes front in December of 1944, the Allied forces that moved in on Berlin would fear the King Tiger up until the very last day of the war.
Includes DMD Control Unit T-03 for running and Multi Function Unit MF-01 for sound, flash and recoil actions. Gearbox, speaker unit, flash unit and optical fibres are also included. Turret rotates and gun elevates.

more | Tamiya RC Tank Battle System (53447) System for realistic tank to tank battles. Enhances the Tiger 1 or Sherman M4 with infrared LED and receiver permitting accurate light emission and detection at up to 30m, even outdoors. 1. The sounds, lights and recoil of both firing at a tank and being hit by enemy fire are realistically recreated with this unit. The engine sound of damaged tank becomes irregular and speed slows. 2. the more times the damage sensor is hit, the more the running power of the tank is decreased, from `damaged' to `inoperative, when all the tank control is lost. 3. After 15 seconds the `cell start' of the engine is heard and the tank is made operative again for the next battle. Firing from an enemy tank has no effect during this time, allowing for evasive action. more.. | |
