Pull and electric starters have revolutionised petrol and nitro powered model cars, trucks and buggies. With starting much easier, nitro is the preferred power for high performance models, the better torque and brilliant acceleration is a real `blast'. More maintenance is necessary than with electric powered models and so nitro is only suitable for ages mid/late teens and up. Read the Antics help sheet before starting.

Most nitro engines employ a glow plug, which must be heated with a battery powered `glow start', to make starting easy. Many of our deals include the starting pack but check the description to be sure.

Drive Safely! We recommend the fitting of a failsafe device, product 5299008, to prevent these high powered cars running away if radio signal is lost, or receiver batteries run low. A small price to pay for peace of mind.

Made in collaboration with O.S. Engines, the 3.0cc FS-18RS nitro engine features a high performance dual-needle slide-valve carburetor, race inspired crankshaft and aggressive porting that provides power output that rivals many .21 engines. The total weight is dramatically reduced to put the TNX in the same weight category as most 1/10 monster trucks without sacrificing durability. Lightweight suspension components reduce unsprung weight for sharp handling and stability. The TNX features a new forward only transmission with a pin-type 2-speed for solid and consistent shifting. Ultra strong hardened steel drive shafts and joint cups deliver power to the differentials. Tamiya introduces a new era in nitro monster truck performance with the new TNX. Our designers took a 1/8 chassis, reduced the weight to that of a 1/10 scale and put an engine with the power of a big block to produce what may become the most dominant nitro monster truck in the market, straight out of the box! On the track, the TNX has a massive power-to-weight ratio advantage that enables it to out accelerate, out corner and out run just about any other truck in its class.
