Dragon are steadily expanding this range of superb models, crafted in plastic for maximum detail definition with some metal parts and finished in authentic camouflage schemes. Tracks are one piece rubber but give a good effect. Nicely boxed - good plastic display box inside a cardboard outer. Model length is about 4 1/2" (115mm) - based on Tiger 1. Most have rotable turrets and a gun that elevates. Fine detail incudes ropes, shackles and tools carried on the chassis, plus smoke dischargers, machine guns and external petrol tanks appropriate for each model. Best of all these models are pre-painted with sharp, accurate and authentic camouflage and realistic weathering.

This model represents a vehicle fighting against the advancing Allies in Alsace on the Western Front in 1945. It is from sPzJgAbt 653, one of only two heavy antitank battalions equipped with the Jagdtiger (the other was sPzJgAbt 512). Interestingly, only about 20% of Jagdtigers were lost as a result of combat damage, the majority were abandoned and sabotaged by their crews usually when they broke down! Another interesting aspect of this model from Dragon Armor is the zimmerit coating, which adorns the hull and almost to the top of the superstructure sides. This is produced by Dragon’s high-tech patented zimmerit process. The top of the boxy fighting compartment is also draped in a tarpaulin, which provided some form of additional weather protection for the crew. The accurate scale model is coated in a precise three-colour camouflage scheme. It’s also authentically weathered, which enhances the scale look of the zimmerit.
