The Amerigo Vespucci is one of the largest sailing ships that is active nowadays. She is the only square-rigged three-decker sailing ship still in existence. The A. Vespucci serves the Italian Leghorn Marine Academy as a training ship and can be seen every year in many reviews. This ship, that was launched in 1931, also has two 850 hp electro-diesel engines. Despite having a sail area of 2,580 mý, the A. Vespucci has often had to rely on the additional engines
